    Am I Eligible for a J1 Visa
    Hello,

I am a 26 years old student from France and am trying to find a quick way to change my status from F1 to J1 without having to go back to my country, which is possible with the I-539 from but I also need the DS-2019 to complete my form and I don't know where I can find it and how long it takes to change status.

I found a job on the same field that I used to study and work in France which is Upholstery Decoration. I had a 2 years degree years ago on this field and 3 years of professional experience and now I am very interested to know how this kind of business is manage in the United State for a future purpose, so I'm wondering if I am eligible for a j1 visa trainee or specialist? But I only have 1 month to figure this out because if I don't get a j1 visa I have to start school August 27!

    thank you for your time

You need to discus the issue with your potential employer. They need to process the application and substantiate the need to hire a foreigner for the position.

You need to find an employer who is interested and qualified to hire you in a J1 capacity. Once you do that, they will verify your eligibility.
