F1 Student Getting Married to U.S. Citizen
So I plan on getting married next year to my girlfriend.
I am currently on a student Visa that expires next year,
I will then be going back to England to renew my Student Visa(4years)
Do I apply for my green card then? or wait until my Student visa is finished
4 years later? Perm residency is the plan as obviously I want to live with my Wife.

    Thanks.

Re: F1 Student Getting Married to U.S. Citizen
Once you decide to become a permanent resident, you have intent to immigrate. In order to obtain a student visa or tourist visa, you must represent that you have no intent to immigrate. So if since moving into the U.S. you have formed a plan to marry a citizen and immigrate, your proper approach is to marry, petition to adjust your status, and wait until your petition is approved or obtain advance parole before leaving the U.S.

I am not going to comment on what you "might be able to get away with"; I am sure you can find lots of posts on immigrant boards and forums in which people describe their experiences under similar circumstances, in which they did not follow the proper process as described above.
