Caught Stealing for the First Time
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

Hi I was wondering If anyone would be able to provide me with some information, I live in Florida and got caught shoplifting at a Walmart, The product was $99 and lost prevention had stopped me after I had left the doors and I didn't put up a fight or anything I told them I really had no clue as to why I did it, I realized that it was really stupid of me but besides the point I have a court date for the 26th of July which is next week and being that this is my first time offense I am not really sure on how to plea, If anyone can provide me with any information I will forever be grateful, I am 25 years old, I am currently working full time and I can't afford to lose my job. So please any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

First off, expect a Civil Demand in the mail from the store/it's lawyers.

You can expect court costs and fines.

A Criminal Defense lawyer in your area would be beneficial. If you can't afford one, plead Not Guilty and ask for a Public Defender.
