NY Identity theft 3rd degree misdemeanor
i was arrested for using a credit card that i found on the street to make a small transaction of $41 The next day i returned the card but charges were still filed against me. I was arrested and released on my own recognizance. I am 17 and it was my first and only offense. I am more than willing to repay what i took. I dont know why i did something so stupid, i am a good student and never had any other troubles with the law. I was fully cooperative with the detectives. Do you think I can get the charges dropped/expunged/pardoned? whats the worst i could face? (my arrainment is in a few days any advice?)

I suggest that you consult a local lawyer about the possibiity of getting into a diversion program or getting a delayed disposition, or any other outcome which will allow you to avoid a criminal record.
