Arraignment for a Speeding Ticket in California
My question involves traffic court in the State of: California

Hello I have a Arraignment scheuled on 7/13 for a VC-22349A-l Violation. I will plead guilty, but should I ASK the judge for a reduced fine (The ticket is 244.00) or keep my mouth shut and the judge will automatically reduce the bill?

Should I go to traffic school? (DO I need to ask the judge about this) (its 286.00), would it make a big difference on my insurance if I don't go?

    Thank you.

There's no harm in attempting this strategy. But whether or not the judge will actually agree to reduce your speeding ticket is a crap shoot. Usually though, the judge will give you a couple of options. But they generally fall in line with either plead guilty and pay the full fine or go to traffic school and not pay any fine.

In terms of which option is better for your insurance, the better option is to attend traffic school. It will keep the ticket off your record and thus keep your rates from increasing.

    Really?

If you go to traffic school you don't have to pay any fine?

You simply have no clue about how things work, why do you even try?

You're asking questions that no one here can give you definitive answers on.

There is nothing that dictates whether you should receive a fine reduction or not. The judge will likely review your info before offering or agreeing to offer a reduction. We have no information about your driving record, how long since you were last cited, the speed you were cited for etc, etc... etc!

You can either ask the judge or wait until he offers... But if he doesn't you can ask!

Nobody can predict whether this will affect you insurance premium or not simply because (again) we have zero information about your driving record, the car you drive, other drivers ion the household, the speed you were cited for. The presumption is every ticket has a potential effect on your premium. And nobody is going to decide that for you!

I was driving a '95 Avalon at 77 mph.. My last moving violation was 2006/2007. This ticket was from late May.

I have not seen too many posters post back that their fine was reduced ...

As for your insurance? Every company is different ... with mine, I can get a ticket w/o effecting my premium. Call your insurance company.

This is the THIRD thread that you've started on the same topic asking the same general questions and given the same general answers.

That is in violation of forum policy!
There is no way you can be this obtuse in real life. So stop being so irritating!

FOR THE LAST TIME: NO ONE CAN GIVE YOU SPECIFIC ANSWERS. ONLY THE JUDGE HEARING YOUR CASE CAN DECIDE WHAT TO DO!

    Helloa ll, update:

I went to court today, very nice judge offered traffic school and dropped the fee from 286 (b/c of traffic school) to $172! Thank you all for your help!
