Drug Paraphernalia and Tobacco Possession by a Minor
My question involves criminal law for the state of Minnesota.
I was a week away from being 15. so I was technically 14, when me and 2 others were caught walking to a gas station after being seen smoking pot outside of school. I was suspended for suspected use, I had a "self improvised smoking device" that had marijuana residue in it. I also had two cigarettes in a pack. I also had a large pocket knife. I have yet to get my date for court and was wondering what the penalties/fines would be, and what I would most likely recive as punishment. I have been searche a few times but never caught with anything. This is my first offence of drug sort I have been caught with a knife at school before. I had no marijuana on me but someone with me did. We were seen by an off duty officer, when we were smoking but no drug tests have been issued to determine use.

It's juvenile court, so the penalty can be fashioned to fit what the court believes to be appropriate to help prevent you from committing more offenses. That means it will depend upon such factors as your home, school and community record, whether you appear to have a substance abuse problem, and your prior record of encounters with law enforcement.
