Re: Needed
Honestly, I really don't know. Lately, though, well-known people from all over the workforce have mysteriously "stepped down" from their positions. It's as though there is a bit of the "hatchet man" phenomenon going on. I'm on critical projects for the area, a single point of knowledge/failure for over 20 systems, and one of the most well-utilized and trusted employees in the organization. If they are trying to save a buck because the "budget is to the bone" (as my supervisor has said on numerous occasions), so be it. But to assault my integrity and reputation in the process?
I've received calls at my home number from people asking where I am and what's going on, too. Apparently, my work voicemail has been changed to say that "MY NAME is out of the office indefinitely. For immediate assistance, please contact MANAGER'S NAME at (###)###-####. Thank you." After the investigation, I was told to keep things confidential, and to not discuss with any other employees. How cruel is that, then, to now give them a reason to call me at home and find out what's up? And then the rumor mill will start...naturally...when I say that I can't discuss it. This is all so ridiculous and unfair, but as someone told me, the tip of the moral compass has fallen off with regard to many companies. Shameful....

Re: Needed
If what I had in mind really were the case, you'd have at least an inkling of it, so it's most likely not. That being the case, I'm not seeing any laws being violated or protected rights being trampled.
I'm taking you at your word that you did not forge the email. Who has the skills to do so, and to create the forensic report? Again, I am going somewhere specific with this.
