Complications in Receiving Civil Demand Letter
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I am nineteen years old. I was caught shoplifting at a CVS almost four weeks ago. The LP officer told me to expect a letter and a fine in the mail two to three weeks from that day. I've been checking the mail every so often, and I still haven't received anything. A few months before that incident, I moved to a newly constructed community, and my new address does not show up on GPS systems. I have had problems receiving mail at my new address in the past, and I'm afraid that that is the case now. I have called the store a couple of times trying to talk to the LP officer in order to double-check my address just in case, but I am never able to get a hold of him. Is there anything else I can do now? What can I expect at this point?
Re: Complications in Receiving Civil Demand Letter
It's more likely that it is simply taking longer than a month. The letters can sometimes take a little while to get out. Just sit back, relax and keep saving money to pay the CD. If it stretches out past 3 months then you might want to try and get in touch with somebody.
