Can My Abused Boyfriend Get Emancipated
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: OHIO
My boyfriend has been abused since he was a child. Recently, since he turned 16, the abuse, physical and mental has gotten so bad he ran away and didn't tell anyone where he was going. He was missing for 31 days. Then He went to cps and they did not listen to him at all. There are others to confirm the abuse. He attempted suicide once, but still no one helped him. He will be locked in his room, (since he is home schooled) for months at a time, with no way to contact 911, all he has in his "room" is a box of ramen, and a bed. They pad-lock his door, ive seen it myself. His dad has custody and his mom is a nut-case. Is there any way we can help? Any way he can get emancipated? We have thought about getting married but his dad wont sign for it. The abuse is bad, bruises, ripped out his earrings, punches to the stomach, ect. Every time he reaches out for help his dad says he was being "unruly" or "disrespectful" (which he isnt) and cps goes away. I have texts saying if another abuse occurs he will attempt suicide again.... What can i do?
Re: Can My Abused Boyfriend Get Emancipated
Read the stickied threads. The short answer is no, he's in Ohio and he's neither legally married nor an active duty member of the military, so he's stuck with mom and dad.
If he's being abused, he can seek help from protective services. Ripped out earrings aren't something CPS is going to fail to notice. If he is in fact locked up in his room, beaten and starved for months at a time, next time he disappears feel free to notify CPS yourself.
He can text you but he can't call 911? What an interesting cell phone he has.... 911 works even after your cellular service is disconnected.

He is locked in his room for months at a time, yet miraculously you manage to continue a relationship with him.
