16, Caught Shoplifting, First Offense
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Illinois.
Yesterday, I was in Walmart and didn't have the money for some makeup with me, so I took it because a lot of my friends have shoplifted and said it was no big deal. It was the stupidest thng I have ever done. I should never have listened to them. As I tried to leave, a man and a women (not in uniform) stopped me and asked me to give the stuff back. I did, and then they escorted me to a little office at the front of the store. Since I'm a minor, they called my parents, then the police. A man in there asked if they needed to ake a picture (I'm guessing so I couldn't go in the store again?) but the women said no. The police took me down to the station, and my mom came and got me there. I was very cooperative this whole time, and apologized several times. I never denied taking the stuff, even from the beginning. This is the first time I have ever done something like this; what happens from here?
