Can an Adult Have Sex With a 17-Year-Old

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Utah
So I am 20 years old and would like to date a 17 year old. I understand that it is legal as long as we do not have sexual intercourse, and I don't plan on it until I am married. But what if the situation arose were I was accused or were we actually did. I looked at the links for the ages of concent and they said that a small age cap was also legal. What is that age cap? If I was accused of haveing sexual intercourse would I be ccoverd by law?

You can easily find out what the age gap is in UT on your own. You found this forum, I'm sure you have the expertise to Google the Utah criminal statutes. But, let me ask you a question...if your motivation is not sex, what is the bloody rush? What is the problem with waiting 3 whole months to ask the lovely young lady to accompany you to a movie?

Wait until 18 or marriage for sex,waiting 3 months to take someone out to a movie can be a life time,lol.
