How Likely is a Judge to Grant a Permanent Protective Order
My question involves restraining orders in the State of: Colorado.
I got a protective order filed against me and have a hearing soon. I was just wondering how likely the judge will grant it? I was reported for harrassment a few weeks ago and have not talked to the person since. He also wrote lies about me in the report and has never really said he didn't want to talk to me but i did threaten him the day I was reported for harrassment. However, I do live 5 or 6 hours from the person so I don't know how likely it is that the protective order will be granted.
Re: How Likely is a Judge to Grant a Permanent Protective Order
Are you going to turn up in court?
If you do, you can argue your case (thought you did threaten him by your own admission), and dispute the lies.
If you don't, the petitioner will have a good case of having the restraining order granted.

The fact you threatened him will be a red flag to anyone. Protective orders are for the victim, so even if some lies were created, I think you should consult an attorney.
