    Standard Benefits Extension
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CA

Hi, I'm near the end of my initial 26 weeks of benefits from my original claim in CA. I'm wondering if there's anything I need to do in order to file for extension. I couldn't find any info on the CA unemployment website as to whether this happens automatically or whether I have to do something. I think I have 1 month left. Should I expect something in the mail before the end?

    Thanks,
    Adam

It should happen automatically. It all depends on whether the federal government is still funding extensions and what the terms and conditionos are. You will be notified by the State if you're eligible for an extension; in the meantime, you should just keep filing a weekly claim until they tell you not to.
