Probability of Case Being Dismissed
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Tennessee
Hi everyone, I'm 21. Never been into any problems before. Right before the turn of the new year, my girlfriend and I got into an argument. Wasn't physical, but the cops were called regardless. Anyways, I'm enlisted into the US military. I ship out next month for boot/basic. I have a court date tomorrow, it'll be my third one. Apparently it's set for "report" or whatever. The judge ordered me to take anger management (w/ random drug screens, which i passed ALL of), but she got off scotch free. I just completed it(anger management), AND took DVAC here (domestic violence assessment center).. would these two things, plus my military contract possibly be enough to have the case dismissed/disposed tomorrow? She's charged with the same thing, we both have the same court date, but it's not me against her, apparently it's me/her vs. the state. I just need some advice about this situation because it can and will affect my military career before it even begins, if it's dragged on past this month.
Thanks

The best advice anyone can give you is "Get a lawyer." Which, being three court dates in, one hopes you have done already.
No one can predict whether your case will be dismissed or not, we aren't in possession of the full facts, and couldn't predict even then. The judge will make his decision based on facts and law, not probability.

Oh, sorry. I forgot to mention I do indeed have a lawyer. Last time I went to court it seemed like NOTHING got accomplished, but I wasn't completed with my anger management yet. Hopefully that's what the judge was waiting on.

You also need to notify your command/recruiter about the charges. They will find out anyway and it'll be better coming from you.

I've told them. They know the whole situation. Ran another background check to check it out. They're saying if it's not dismissed or whatever by the end of the month, or well.. this coming court date that could void my contract. Not good news on my part.
