Disqualified from Unemployment After Termination Due to Illness

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: southcarolina they took more than 3900 dollars away from me cause my attendance but one thing is i got doctors notes for every day i was out yes they were a little retro active but i was severly sick with chronic lymphedema and cellulittis my doc put me outof work cause cellulittis infection and i got the notes is it worth A APPEAL TALKING TO LEGAL TODAY ABOUT IT how do u screw the people that have real issues i can see if it was someone playing games

I'm not sure how you were claiming unemployment benefits for a time period in which you weren't actually able to work?

If you were unable to work, you are not eligible for unemployment. In order to qualify for UI, you have to be able to work, actively looking for work and available to accept work if offered.

i am able now to work the infection was treated some people get sick guys

Nobody is saying people don't get sick - but you cannot claim unemployment for a period of time where you're NOT able to work.

i dont understand i was terminated cause i was sick i got better and filed a claim i worked all yea and was activley seeking work a week after termination

UI is not related to FMLA or disability....if you're not able to work, and you're claiming UI, you will be expected to repay the money.

no i was on fmla cause i was sick my job gave me fmla

then my doc gave me a note to return to work full duty without examnation and the next day had a fever and infection and lost my job cause he wrote me back to work when i was still sick

When you were out on FMLA - which doesn't pay you, btw - were you receiving unemployment?

You cannot collect UI for the period of time that you were on FMLA.

You cannot collect UI for the period of time that you were sick.

You cannot collect UI for any period of time that you were unable to work.

I don't know how to make it any more clear than that.
