so, he filled out the title with the 198k registered on the section for mileage, correct? So, contact the state to see what it was when it was registered with the state after that sale.
If the title states 153k miles, how can you prove the other guy actually was correct with 198k miles? While most people will not state there is higher mileage than actual, it could have been a typo.
Lets assume that the mileage was off ... what would you be due? Not much. 150K v. 198K? Go to www.nada.com or www.edmonds.com and plug in the 2 mileages and see the $$$ value difference. It won't be more than its worth to pursue.
OP post back with results ... :)
It could be real, it could be a typo, it could be that he rolled back the odometer before he sold the vehicle to the dealer.... I'm sure there are other possibilities.
i do not have the title the dealership does, as i still owe a little bit more on the truck. is there any documents i could get from my local dmv that would state mileage at certain dates? i have yet to hear anything from the previous owner. should i confront the dealership?
