Personal Loan Application Fraud
My question relates to the state law of queensland, australia.
I recently have been trying to get a loan online and have been turned down multiple times, but one of the first i applied for I was told over the phone (by the company) that i was being reported for fraud, after i was phoned back following an argument i had on the phone with the same person about the security of the loan (my vehicle). The reason was because i had apparently put my birth date as 2 years older than i actually was. This was a genuine mistake, but according to the company you need to be over 21 to get a personal loan, which i had not been aware of because i had applied for many personal loans that did not turn me down for my lack of age requirement, but either my credit rating or my low income. I did not end up getting the personal loan, as i cancelled it due to not being able to prove that i was the owner of the vehicle (because registration is under my mother's name for insurance purposes because i'm a Provisional-plater, and i don't like to involve family in my financial affairs. I know most of this information isn't necessary, but it points out my story. So i cancelled it, but this just happened about 2 hours ago. Will this be a problem? How is it punishable? What should i do?
Re: Personal Loan Application Fraud
This forum deals with United States law. The law in Australia is going to be different. You need to seek advice with a resource with some expertise with Australian law.
