    Contempt of a Divorce Order
My ex-wife has filed a contempt of court against me. In the divorce, I was required to pay off a small claims judgement against me to her and put the property up for sale or refinance it within 60 days.

The home was put on the market as required and since then, was removed from the market when no offers were made, but only after my refinance agent said to take it off the market when the refinance process started.

The small claims judgement was paid off, albeit late because it was being garnished from my wages and I was trying to get the final payoff. I provided her laywer with a receipt showing the judgement was paid off and also documents showing the house was in real-estate (at that time). I got a paper in the mail saying that the date was set for the contempt hearing even after this.

Now for the other side, she was required to proviude me documents to sign a vehicle to her and she has yet to do that and therefore I would think could be held in contempt herself.

What should I do? Will I be found in contempt? How do I file for contempt against her in KY?

    Thanks!

You would be well-served to consult a local attorney about your situation. You should not approach a contempt hearing lightly - you would benefit from specific advice about your rights and appropriate responses, as well as from representation in court.
