What Happens if Your Roommate Denies Receiving Rent Payments
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Nevada.

I'm paying my roommate $400/month cash for a room. Nothing is written down.

I was just wondering if down the road 4-5 months, can he pretend like I never paid and take me to court for 6 months worth of rent?

Him: "Judge, here are pics of him renting out the room. My girlfriend can also confirm he stayed with us for 6 months. Yet there are no checks that I ever received from him. He never paid. I demand the rent now."

Re: Paying Roommate Cash Monthly. Can He Come Back Later and Do the Following
Sure ... but its not going to look good for him asking for rent that was due 1/2 yr ago. Get receipts.

If you think your roommate is that dishonest, pay by a verifiable method (e.g., check or money order with a retained receipt) and get receipts when you make payments.
