Kicking Out Abusive 18 Year Old Son
My question involves an eviction in the state of: Indiana
Can a widow kick her 18 year old abusive, sometimes threatening and violent son out of her home?
He's technically still in high school but skips as much school as he can, and now that he's 18 refuses to go to school whenever he doesn't want to.
Receives Social Security Survivor Benefits from the death of his father.
Totally disrupts the house, does NOTHING but make believe he's in the Army on his XBox and stays up all night screaming at the top of this lungs at his games, and becomes abusive and threatening towards his mother or sisters whenever his "world" is "disturbed".

you have to treat him as a tenant and follow the procedure for terminating a tenancy. That means giving proper notice (I'll have to look it up but probably 30 days written notice). If he does not move by the date given, you would have to file an eviction action in the courts. If he fails to leave (presuming the court issues the eviction order), you would have to have the sheriff remove him.

yes, it is one month's notice, in writing.
