I Am Ward of State and Pregnant
My question involves child support in the State of: Michigan
If my fiance and I dont get married before the child is born will he have to pay child support?
Next question is would I even see the money since I am ward of the state?
I was told that I wouldn't see any of it, he would be paying the state for what ever I receive for the kid as of help from them.

Do all the other details from your other post at http://www.expertlaw.com/forums/show...722&highlight= still apply to your situation?

Ah. What a difference the space bar makes in a screen-name....

    Le sigh! ;)

Now I feel bad, maybe they are different people. Apologies if that's the case.

    They are entirely different people.

It's apparently fashionable among a certain subset of teenaged girls to call themselves some variant of "Fallen Angel". It's supposed to be romantic or badass or indicative of innocence lost or some nonsense.

If his paternity is established, he can expect to be ordered to pay child support.

If he is paying more than the state is paying for your care, then you could get some money. It's likely, though, that he's anything but wealthy or successful, but he's free to give you any amount of money he wants separately and in addition to his child support.

If the state ends up raising your child, as well as you, he will pay the child support to the state.
