Can Bill Collectors Use a Phone Conversation With the Debtor in Court
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of:Texas
So i received a phone call from a collections agency called frontier financial group about a month ago. I stupidly admitted to the debt of $1200 being mine and the guy told me that he was going to recommend that they move forward on the account.

    1. Do you think ill be sued for this small of an amount? Note:they said they were going to put my account up for legal review back in september and then in october they called me again saying they are still willing to work with me. However, this time they sound a little more serious.

    2. If i am in fact sued, do i still have the option to ask for the original credit application so that the case would possibly be dismissed or did i screw myself by admitting to the debt over the phone?

I've known people to be sued for as little as $150 (which of course turns into much more than that after court costs and interest are added).

This may seem like a silly question, but is there any reason you can't setup a repayment plan?

Well you did not help yourself admitting to it...but it likely would make no difference in the long run

Yea my game plan is if i do in fact receive a summons im going to try to settle out of court. Is it too late to do that after i receive the summons or complaint though?
