Statute of Limitations on Child Support Collection in Washington State
My question involves child support in the State of: Washington
Question: My ex is not paying the small amount of support that is ordered. The child support is supposed to be a direct payment between us, not through the state. Does anyone know if it is possible to go back, after the children are grown, and seek the several years of back child support? By the time the children are out of the house we would be looking at approximately 10 years of support to be collected.
Re: Statute of Limitations on Child Support Collection in Wa
Assuming that it's actually a court or administrative order (versus an informal agreement between you), 10 years after emancipation of youngest child for orders entered after 7/22/89; 10 years after a payment becomes delinquent for orders entered before 7/23/89.
