Delinquency of a Minor Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: SC
Recently, someone I knew got arrested for admitting to a police officer they bought alcohol for a minor and received a minor/delinquency of a minor charge. They admitted this at least twice to the officer and was supposedly recorded saying it again in the police car. I have a strange hunch this person is trying to defer the blame onto myself since the minor in question is my friend. He also has a personal lawyer to deal with the charge and plans to plead not guilty. I was at the location that everyone was arrested, but I was not charged with anything, given my alcohol back, and let go home. My name wasn't even taken down. What could be the possible outcome if my hunch is correct? I'd assume since he admitted to buying it and was then arrested and asked again, there's not much of a case?
Re: Delinquency of a Minor Charge
What could happen? Anything from nothing, because the police and prosecutor don't find the accusation credible, to the filing of charges against you.
