Ticket from Park Ranger for Pot Possession, Paraphernalia, and Open Alcohol in Public
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington
I got a ticket from a National Park Ranger with an open container of beer in my car while I was getting my snowboarding gear together. He said he then had PC to search the car, and found a little pot and my pipe. I got tickets for each, and the Ranger seemed pretty chill about the whole thing. He said that as long as I pay the tickets, there will be nothing on my record. Is this true? Even if it doesn't make it on my criminal record, will it show up in a background check?

Never believe a LEO when he says just pay it, there will be nothing on your record.

I cannot see the tickets from here, and you have not told us anything material about them. Unless I saw evidence to the contrary, my assumption would be that they're federal misdemeanor tickets and that they in fact are a "big deal". For now, all I can really do is suggest that you have the tickets reviewed by a local lawyer.
