Changing a Minors Name After an Adoption
My question involves name change laws in the State of: Pennsylvania
My husband adopted my 2 sons 2 years ago. At that time we didnt change their last names. However my youngest son who is now 12 has asked if he could change his last name to ours. Do I need to get a lawyer for this even though my husband had already legally adopted them?

You do not have to have a lawyer but you do need to petition the court for the name change. Depending on your comfort level with the process, it may be beneficial to obtain the services of a lawyer. Here is a link for Dauphin County. It should be the same in any county in PA. You might try doing a search for your county if different than Dauphin.
