Charges of Harassment and Petty Larceny
My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
Thank you all for giving your time to help us. I wanted to say that up front.

I was arrested on Harrassement and Petit Larceny based solely upon her statements. Her and I were the only ones there when this incident occured.

We have had a tumultious relationship, consisting of both of us calling the Police on one another resulting in no arrests.

I got into a verbal argument with her , as I woke to find she had been looking for and contacting other men on the internet.

We argued verbally and I left.

She began texting me "Where are my car keys? " I will easily pass a lie detector regarding this- I DID NOT touch her keys. I told her that and to stop texting me-

Please note here that this woman is very vindictive and manipulative and has money for a good lawyer and would get one just to do it.

The Police called me. Asked me to come to discuss the complaints filed. I stated I would discuss it on the phone, as I was innocent and all I did was leave.
They told me that I had better return the keys or I would be charged with Petit Larceny. They refused to listen to anything else I had to say. I went all the way up and spoke to a SGT who stated the same.
I was arrested, taken to court and then to Jail.

How can someone have someone else arrested based on a lie? I was obnoxious to the Officer and threatened a lawsuit and told him I was innocent.
He spoke with the Judge before my arraignment and probly told him to give me max bail. It was 500- I was a former CPS Investigator until this Past October when I resigned as I was caught smoking weed in a public place off duty. The cops think Im a scum bag where I live they all know what happened.

The same cop who arrested me refused to take a complaint from me on Christmas Eve that my ex had stolen items belonging to me and it was in progress. She was caring for my dogs at the time while I was in Baltimore MD with my family.

This woman has flat out lied and I am innocent of the charges and will gladly take a polygraph. Since I met her I have been in the crisis Unit, lost my job, and now jail because of her abuse. If you would like more info. please ask I need help I have court this Monday 1/30/12

I want also to file a lawsuit againt the OC CO Sherffis Office for wrongful arrest. There was no evidence, and I feel the arrest warrant was wrongfully obtained. PLEASE HELP I havent slept in two days since this happened on 1/ 12/12

Sorry for some of the lack of info-
HER refers to my ex who filed the complaints- And the alledged incident occured on 1/24/12- NOT 1/12 as I posted- Sorry and thank you !

There are probably a ton of gaps where important information should be. The only thing that can be said is consult with an attorney, plead not guilty and let the truth come out in court. Evidently, there is some kind of indication that there is more to this issue than what's contained in your version.

    Re: an Innocent Man
You plead not guilty and let them prove you did. I suggest if you cannot afford a lawyer, you request a public defender.

You plead not guilty , discuss every detail with your lawyer and force them to prove their case. You don't prove you are innocent, they prove you are guilty.
