How to Prevent an Absent Father from Trying to Get Visitation
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: I have a two year old son who's real father at the time he was born I was with. Only a couple months after he was born I split from him. In over a year and a half he has only seen my son maybe three times and it's been more then a year since he has seen him last. I have never had any child support paid to me and we have no court order for anything. He used to Facebook me asking me for visitation and I would agree to a public meeting for him to spend time but he was not to have him alone because of his past behaviors. He always declined public visitation and demanded to have him alone. He has never had our son alone ever in our sons life and in august I told him I was done offering and if he wanted to to talk to me or see his son he better have a lawyer ready and I never heard from him again. Our life has moved on and I am wanting to get married and have my sons last name changed to his step fathers last name but his last name is currently hyphenated with mine and his biological fathers last name. His biological father and I were never married or common law , his biological father has re married and is starting a new family but I do not know where they live now. So I would like to know what is the best way for me to proceed this? I do not want him to have any kind of custody or access at all. I just want him legally out of our lives and I do not need child support. Can I file for child abandonment? And I can prove every time I offered in writing for a public visit and him declining.
Re: Trying to Get the Right Footing Legally for My Son
Sorry, we deal with US law only.
