    Unemployment Compensation Holding Benefits
I am a single mother, was laid off in July after 15yrs as a nurse. I have been collection unemployment. I received a job offer, went to 3 day orientation. Turned out not the job I thought is was. Reported to UC, I did not claim w/o 12/5/11. They have been withholding my benefits since 12/14/11. Last check was for 506.00. How do I get this resolved? The phone is constantly busy. Thank you for you time!

You refused an offer of work. You are no longer eligible. It not being the job you thought it was is not sufficient. You must substantiate it was unsuitable.

You do not mention what state this is in, and UI is state specific. However, regardless of what state you are in, if you turned down suitable work you are no longer eligible for UI. BTW, the state, not you, decides what is suitable work.

    Sorry, I live in PA
I am an OR nurse, and currenlty enrolled in VRP. According to the state board of nursing I cannot work in an OR for at least 6 months. That is why I could not take that job.

Then you need to establish with UI that the work was not suitable for that reason. I don't know what VRP is, however if it is continuing education, it may still disqualify you.
