Trespassing in Texas
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas
I was taking picture of a friend's car today and little did I know, I was trespassing. A van came up and the driver asked us for our DL information, and we complied because we didn't want to cause problems. We were not more than 20 feet beyond a sign that was awkwardly placed and weren't causing any problems whatsoever, we were just by the side of a building. My question is, can he do anything with the DL information? He said we would be receiving citations and he would be in contact with us soon (he didn't even take down our phone number, only our license number). He wasn't even a security guard so I doubt he can just give our information to the police with no proof that we were on the property. FYI, it was a train yard, but we weren't even close to trains and didn't cause any problems, I was simply taking pictures of a car.
Thanks,
Zach

Re: Trespassing in Texas
He can have the railroad police issue trespass citations possibly. Without knowing who he is or whether he took photo evidence of your crime, there is not much else I can say.

Re: Trespassing in Texas
Exactly who is "he"? Some random guy? The property owner? A railroad employee (and if so, in what capacity)? A police officer?
It's quite possible that, whoever "he" is, he will make a report to the police, along with the information you provided, and then it will be up to the police to decide if further investigation is warranted or if the file should be submitted to a prosecutor for review.

Re: Trespassing in Texas
He gave us his name and number and he is apparently the "trainmaster" working at the business.
