I've Been Caught Stealing from My Job
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: New Mexico
I'm posting here because I'm 17 and I think it may be different than if someone 18 or older was caught, at least I hope this is the case.
Me and another worker were caught trying to smuggle out two bottles of alcohol from the store, a customer saw and reported us to the manager, who caught me in the act of it.
The other worker was caught because the customer personally saw him handing me the bottles. The manager isn't really high in the ranks, and isn't in charge of hiring or firing, but called the store director to ask what to do, and I have to talk to him tomorrow.
Whats going to happen? And how can I make it easier on myself? The police arn't involved yet, how can I help it stay that way?

nothing I can think of other than doing whatever it takes to keep the police out of it.

by doing whatever the store director says to do. I don't know if he has any duty to report this or not since not only was it a theft but it ended up with you being in possession of alcohol which makes that itself a crime. He may be under some obligation to report it. I really do not know though.
