Ex-Boyfriend is Evicting Me and My Kids, We Weren't Together when We Moved In

My question involves an eviction in the state of: Louisiana
at then end of november 2011 i needed a place to stay with my 2 kids and my ex boyfriend told me seeing that he was working out of state and only home for 2 or 3 days maybe a week out of each month that we could move in his place he rents didnt have to worry about paying any bills or rent...just buy groceries and take care of the house and my bills and the kids...after being here a month,enrolling the kids in school,changing addresses on license and getting everything settled we need a couch and deep freeze... he was in on the 27th of december 2011 and we went and move my couch and deep freeze and more stuff into the house...2 days later he texts me and tells me to move...then it went into more texts and he says hes not paying bills for another family to live in the house he rents so as of february 1,2012 i am to take over bills and utilities....i suggested we split the bills...he wanted to think about it and he yext 3 days ago and so i was to take over all payments to live there...i asked when he was getting his stuff and he said he isnt...then he text last nightejanuary 17,2012 and told me he had talked to the land lord and that since i wont leave like he asked me to then evcition process will start in the morning....so here it is morning and i am sitting here worried what to do...we have talked about many things and i thought we came up with me paying bills and staying...i have no where to go and have to kids in school ....i dont know what to do and what the terms for the eviction is really worried and upset that my kids and i are gonna be on the streets..PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!! please tell me what i can do to stay seeing that is isnt here and he was gonna move in the first place...it is a month to month,no lease...

You have time to find another place while the eviction takes place. Try contacting homeless shelters or state government housing, to see if you can get reduced price housing.

With a month to month lease, he has to give you 30 days notice to move. After 30 days, you no longer have legal access to the property and he can use the eviction process through the courts to have the sheriff remove you. If he wants you out, there's nothing you can do to force him to let you stay beyond the 30 days notice. You need to start looking for a new place. Start by contacting your local United Way office - they are one of the best resources to gain access to programs like emergency housing, rental assistance, utilities aid, etc.
