Tax Returns and Tax Refund After Case Closed
My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: AZ

I filed chapter 7 in march 11, discharged and closed after. Do I need to send a copy of my tax returns for 2011 to the trustee and turn over any pro rata (or whatever it's called) to the trustee? I can't get a straight answer from my lawyer. He says if the trustee did not make the request before filing the no distribution report or the closing of the case, then the trustee doesn't want anything from me. Says the trustee and courts are done with me and move on with life.
Then he asks if I got a letter or anything from the trustee. No, I did not or I would not be asking you how it works.

    What do I do?

Your lawyer told you that you should not be proactive, but should wait and see what the trustee does. Your lawyer wants to know if you've in fact received a letter from the trustee because he wants to make sure you understand and comply with the letter. He apparently believes that unless the trustee contacts you, you're better off leaving things alone. If you want to be proactive you can report anything you want to the trustee, and from what you've intimated above that will lead to your paying some money.
