Served With a Collections Lawsuit
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California
Today i served some "being sued" papers from Gordon & Wong in behalf of asset acceptance LLC. The server asked if i was so and so, and i said no. He still gave me the papers saying "give this to him" and he walked off. Didnt even sign anything. The case was filed 12-8-11, and the statue of limitations listed on the front page is 12-17-11. I just got them today?
Where do i go from here? I assume my 30 days are up, and i now have a judgement against me? I dont have any money

Should we infer from that, that you lied? You were served.

But the lawsuit was filed prior to that date?

You just told us that you were only served today (well, yesterday), so how could your thirty days be up?
