Remarriage and child support
I have a question regarding remarriage and child support. My sister is involved with a man who has been divorced for about a year. We all live in Oklahoma. They were both wondering if they marry, would her income cause his child support to be raised?
Thank you in advance for any information that you may have.

Re: Remarriage and child support
I know in the state of CA, if you marry a man with children his new wife's income and assests can not be considered as his income or joint income.
Only the father is financially responsible for his children not the new wife. Child support is figured out by what the father's income is not joint income.
Hope that helps.
Re: Remarriage and child support
I live in PA, and my ex husband got remarried, and owed me back child support. His new wife's income was not included with his own income when the DR office figured out how much he owed me each month. I am not sure how it is in each state, but, here, her income would not be a problem.
