Two Questions, Transporting Alcohol and Citation
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Washington DC/Maryland
I have heard that an 18 year old can transport alcohol in the trunk of his or her car as long as none of seals on the bottles have been broken and the cases have not been opened; is this BS? Also I'm pretty sure one of these days I'm going to get cited(I go to a lot of parties and have had several close calls), what should I expect for my first citation, what about following citations?

This isn't the "how do I break the law and get away with it" forum. There is no transporting exemption in Maryland or the District like you envision. The fine for possession is $500 for the first offense. Doubles on subsequent or if it is determined you're distributing to other minors. False ID's have their own set of penalties as well. Similar penalties exist in DC with the addition of the ability to suspend the offenders license there.

I'm not trying to get away with anything, I don't believe the federal government, compelled by hysterical interest groups like MADD, has any right to establish a national drinking age by withholding highway funding, and with that being said, I know there are consequences for breaking the law, consequences I can deal with, so I choose to do so anyway. Anyway, is there a distinction between getting cited for actually possessing alcohol, or for just being drunk underage? Is the fine the same, and do these citations go on your record?

Maryland makes it illegal to possess or consume without really making any distinction (although it opens you up to a slew of other charges like public intox or DUI if you are consuming).

It grew up in Maryland. It has been illegal to posses liquor there for those under 21 since longer than you were born. It has nothing to do with federal pressure. The only thing that has changed in then last six decades is that the exemption for beer and wine for those between 18-21 was rescinded.

Then go to jail for your beliefs or lobby the state and congress.
