Does a roommate who moved out before the lease up still required to pay half the utilities until a new tenant takes over their half the lease?

What was the arraignments for payments for utility's prior to moving in or is there any thing in a lease about utility's between both party's?

We paid mostly 50/50, I paid extra for our apartment's energy to come from sustainable sources, which I have since canceled, and we paid 50/50 for the cable/internet, even though it's $10 extra a month for her to have HD.
