How it is possible that someone like Quirky can be a genuine help and you be a genuine ass?

For the record, I think people don't appreciate TG as much as they should. Sure, he can sometimes rub people the wrong way, but that's usually because he doesn't suffer fools gladly. You could call his perspective "pro-prosecution", same as mine could be called "pro-defense". But you must remember that his input is invaluable, especially given the dearth of similar perspectives on here. Without him, we would be prone to making optimistic but half-considered arguments at trial --- the hidden flaws would let a judge (or officer) shoot them down in a hearbeat. I've stated this sentiment so many times that I think I should put it in my sig!

    Conclusion is you chickened out...

Sorry TG, gotta disagree with that part. The overwhelming majority of criminal defendants take a plea deal, regardless of how strong they think their case is, etc. For better or for worse, that's just the way it is.

    +1.

I'd rather lose here than lose in a court room.

Thank you Quirky... And I do appreciate the fact that you do keep on repeating it. Problem is, there are a few idiots who couldn't even begin to understand what you mean. They come here expecting everybody to bow to them in spite of the fact that they haven't the slightest clue what they're doing. I bet you they purr and meow like a pussy cat in court, and on the way home, they grow balls big enough to come on here and spew their crap!

Fact is, I don't sit here waiting for people to thank me and sing my praises. If that was my goal, I obviously would not be around any more because you're right, most fail to see how much help they're receiving. Conversely, when someone is dissatisfied and I tell him/her "your opinion means nothing to me" I sincerely mean it because I am here for my own satisfaction and my satisfaction comes in the way of the education that I get, as well as in the knowledge I can share regardless of how I present it. At the end of every day, those who are thankful and appreciative are showing their true substance and caliber, those who don't are simply ignorant! That is THEIR issue though, not mine!

Good point... However, the difference between this case and someone receiving a "plea deal", is that the only bargaining chip this OP had was the 10 minutes of court time he was going to potentially waste. In this case, the "deal" he received was a gimme, the judge simply was weeding out the herd of those who knew better than to have gone that far! And like I said, his "plea deal" was none better than what he could have received at the arraignment. Pretty decent of the judge to hold over such a deal for all the potential losers!

It's kind of sad how you disregard the importance of sharing your knowledge in a respectful manner. I'm not faulting you for sharing an opinion that differs from others here. That information was valuable to me, whether you like it or not. The way you go about it can "rub people the wrong way". It's looks like I'm not the only person you've pulled this shit on. A little bit of etiquette goes a long way. Obviously you have your own issues to deal with I sincerely hope you learn from this and become a better person from it.
