Traffic probation violation
just wanna say hi, Im new around here and i had a question. kind of a long story, ill try to be brief...
back in april '04 i got a ticket on my bike for doing 104 mph on the freeway. went to court and was fined + put on probation for 3 years. the terms of my probation were
1) no speeding tickets
2) no 2 point violations
fast forward to july '05 got a speeding ticket for doing 70mph in a 45. got a fine, paid it. then in sep '05 i was involved in an accident while coming home from college. i was the only one involved. me vs. pole. i dont remember what happened but, i woke up 2 days later, was in the hospital for 2 weeks, off work for 3 months, and my left arm is still recovering(nerve damage) 10 months later. i got a misdemeanor ticket for reckless driving + speeding + at fault accident. it was reduced in court to an infraction for speeding + unsafe start and i got 2 points for it. i paid the fine.
now my question is should i be worried once my 3 year probation is up? i violated both terms of the probation. what is the worse case senerio? jail time? i dont really care if its a fine, i just really dont want to go to jail. this is my first probation and i dont really know the process. also the initial ticket that put me on probation was on my motorcycle as well as the other ticket and my accident. im not going to be riding for a while and have not gotten any tickets since. sorry for the long post.. input is greatly appreciated, and please keep the "u got what u deserve" to a minimum. i know i screwed up, im still paying for it...

thanx.....
Re: traffic probation violation question..
This is a non-reporting probation? That is, you don't meet with a probation officer at all? The original conviction was for a traffic misdemeanor offense?

Re: Traffic probation violation
One thing you may want to check out is that I am not sure they can revoke your probation once the probationary term has expired--they usually start the process of revoking a probation prior to expiration of the probationary period. I know we are talking about a minor traffic offense here as opposed to felony probation but it is worth a look if something becomes of it.
Oftentimes if your probation is revoked for such a thing you get a fine and costs on the charge that was the subject of the probation and it ends up going on your driving record if it is not there already.

what do u mean by them not able to revoke my probation? please explain, and what would this mean for me? fines? more probation? thanx
Re: Traffic probation violation
He means that if you complete your probation and are discharged, you can't be subsequently violated. But that's not what you describe - you describe a deferment conditioned upon your successful completion of probation, and if normal procedures are followed they will check your traffic record and find the violation prior to your being discharged.
That would mean a conviction on (and points from) the ticket, and possibly additional fines, but it's unlikely that there would be further consequence for a civil infraction traffic ticket.
