Possession of THC Charge

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Wisconsin

Would like some general information about possession of THC case. This is a first time offense and amount was definately less than 1.7 grams (it was maybe about 1 gram - not sure). Was supprised to find that there is a possible 6 month sentense for such a small amount. What is the typical amount of time a person would get for this case with a decent lawyer? Any information will help. No previous offenses other than a couple of traffic violations. Thank you for your input. Any possiblity of a fine or community service instead of prison?

Thanks. I'll definately look into that. Would much rather participate in a program than sit in a cell.

That's the max amt which is extremely unlikely b.c its your 1st offense. It's a good idea to work with a lawyer and follow the advice mentioned about a deferred sentence.

Apparently the county I was arrested in has some strict laws regarding marijuana which is why I was taken to jail in the first place, rather than given a ticket. But if I stay clean I should be able to avoid jail time and possibly get this expunged all together.

yea a lot places arrest for that,it's probably considered a misdemeanor.
