Re: Caught Stealing at Work
When you commit a crime you can be arrested, prosecuted, and potentially incarcerated.
Did you have a more specific question?
Re: Caught Stealing at Work
Yes,
I paid my civil demand and the loss goods that next couple of days
I wanted to know they said they were still going to file a police report
I am 19yrs old and I don't know what is going to happen when they file the police report
like will I get sentence a court date in the mail?
will they call my cell phone or my house phone?
would they contact my parents?
will my car be impounded because I put the stolen goods in there but I gave them it back the same day they caught me?
Re: Caught Stealing at Work
What happens? It depends. You may get a call from a police officer, you may get a court notice in the mail, you may get picked up on a warrant... time will tell. If you live with your parents, or if that's the address the police have for you, it's quite possible that your parents will find out. Time will tell.
You chose not to follow the instruction to identify your state, so I'm not going to speculate about whether your state has some sort of impoundment law that could apply to you car; suffice to say, that would be unusual.
Re: Caught Stealing at Work
I live Oahu.
I see how can I find out if they filled the police report?
Could they show up at my other job to arrest me.
What are the chances that they wont call but just send me a court notice?

To find out if there is a police report, you call the police department and ask.
As to your other questions, we cannot give you answers. We cannot predict the future.
Re: Caught Stealing at Work
Can I really call the police department to find out if Macy's filled a police report on me?
What happens if they haven't filled one yet since they have a period of one year to file it, will the police question me about it or would they just give me a yes or no answer?
Re: Caught Stealing at Work
The police will tell you Yes or No.
The prosecutor may or may not have the case file in his/her hands.....
Re: Caught Stealing at Work
Okay
When I go to court when can I ask them if I can get a Public Defender to help me to get community service?
what is a Misterminer? and what are my chances of getting that if I am 19 years old?
How long will this whole thing stay on my record?
What happens if I move to another country for two years and come back to the states? Will it still be on my record?
how long could I go to jail for?
Re: Caught Stealing at Work
You can ask for a public defender.
Whether you get Community Service, or a ton of fines is up to the judge.
If convicted, you will have a Misdemeanor or Felony (we don't know the amount you stole or the exact charges you may face).
It will be on your record for a long time....7 years in the Retail Theft Database. And however long your state requires before you can file for Expungment. You may also get lucky with a First Time Offenders program, but since you stole from your employer more than once, that is not very likely.
If you move to another country.....well, guess what....your criminal record may prevent that. And even admittance to the other country.
Jail...depends on how much you stole.....how often, the value.
Best to hire a criminal defense attorney. If you can afford to move to another country, you can afford a lawyer and will not qualify for a public defender.
