    Misdeamenor Domestic Violence Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: OHIO

My ex is being charged with Domestic Violence as a misdemeanor 1 in Ohio... he also has a history of domestic violence in the state of Oregon. Will the previous charges help get him more time in jail? Or since its in another state then it doesn't affect anything? Also not sure if the county jails check country wide systems because he is also wanted in the state of Oregon for skipping probation... any peace of mind would be nice to hear.

Just to make sure, you might want to let the prosecutors office know of the priors and potential warrant.

There are ways to check into his background nationwide. If the state puts in his information, the requesting state should be able to see it. That includes the warrant. His warrant may not be in Ohio's geographical location to execute. If the judge asks the state for his background and a NCIC is included, the state may be able to mention it. However, most of the cases that I've been a part of only includes charges within the immediate state.
