Immigration for the Spouse of a Permanent Resident
OK. Here is the deal I am married, my wife is overseas (Jordan) and basically I want to bring her here as fast as possiable. I am a Permenet Resident and I won't become a Citizen for another 4 years, otherwise if it was sooner I would of waited to become a Citizen and then apply. So I know I must file the I-130 plus all the requried paperwork, and wait for the an immergation number to become available. Here is one question "HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR THAT NUMBER TO BECOME AVAIALBE?" My next question is basically will it be better to do it that way, apply for her while she is there or how about bringing her here on a Visiting Visa then applying with the I-130. That way I am thinkin they would make a number available for her faster then I can just file the I-485 for the adjustment to Permenat Resident. I do understand that in both ways I would have to wait for the Immegration number to become avaliable but my theroy is that if she's here they would speed it up....Thank you very much and it will all be appricated very much...

You won't be a citizen for four years, so you can't petition for her to enter as an alien relative for four years. I wouldn't want to speculate as to what waiting periods may be four years from now. If you want to move her to the U.S. more quickly, see if she can get some form of visa to work or study here.
