    Would I Quality for Emancipation
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Connecticut.

I'm currently 16 and I have a minimum wage job, around $600 saved up, and my own car that I paid for. My parents would never allow me to be emancipated, however I really feel like it would be best for me.
I know Connecticut's laws for emancipation are that you have to be 16, which I am, and you have to have valid cause.

If I was able to prove that my house is an unsafe environment, and I'm emotionally abused, would I qualify?

I'm mostly worried since I had a rough patch when I was around 13 and I was arrested for shoplifting. I was on probation for 30 days.
I also had some issues with drugs, but I'm clean now.

I know my parents will most likely try and use this against me, but if I pass a drug test and prove that I can financially support myself, could I qualify for this?

You can't support yourself on a minimum wage job, and $600 won't get you through the first month. In any state, it doesn't matter what your reasons are, if you can't support yourself, you can't be emancipated. No matter how bad your home situation is.

Emancipation is not and never was intended to be a means for a teen to leave home, even a bad situation at home. Emancipation was and is intended to be a means to provide legal protections to those teens who, for reasons beyond their control, found themselves on their own.

"I"m emotionally abused" is not a valid reason for emancipation. "My parents were killed in a car crash and I need the ability to sign contracts so that I can pay the rent and get the utilities in my name, etc." is more along the lines of what the judge is looking for when reasons are reviewed.

A teen with a record of shoplifting and drugs will not qualify for emancipation no matter what.
