Is it Assault if a Store Employee Touches You
WalMart has a reputation for being VERY aggressive when it comes to loss prevention. In the strict legal sense of "assault", if a person is touched, isn't that an assault? I'm glad to hear that people are disgusted with WalMart for stuff like this.

Depends who is doing the touching. In some states if a person grabs/pushes/hits a store employee during an act of shoplifting, it is considered robbery and felony charges would be filed.

So what is it if a person is not shoplifting and an employee touches/grabs/pushes/hits a customer? It should be more than just "file a complaint with the store manager".

You can report the incident to police and indicate that you'll be cooperative if charges are brought.
