Getting Married on Tourist Visa and Going Back to Europe
Hello everyone,
I'm engaged with American soldier, who is on active duty in Belgium till 2013. We are dating already more than 2 years and we live together in Belgium, while I'm part time doing my masters studies in Poland (im a Polish citizen).
Year ago we went together for vacation to the US (I was allowed to stay 6 months but came back after 2). I got my tourist visa for 10 years. We want to get married in the States around May and then go back for another 1,5 year in Belgium that he has left here. We can't and dont plan at all moving to the US before that time.
My question is do I really need to apply for K1 visa and wait around a year to get married? Or I can fly to US get married there, go back and from here start doing all the paperwork to be able to work and be 100% legal in US after this 1,5 year???
I read a lot of articles and I'm scared that if I will do it I might get into troubles but on the other hand, when i already have my visa and we're going back to stay and live in Europe for next 1,5year is K1 fiancee visa that necessary ? Thank you for help!!!

The K1 visa is only appropriate if you intend to remain and reside in the US immediately afterwards.
You can come in as a tourist to get married and then go back home to Belgium where, as you correctly surmised, you can start the paperwork when you're about to return to the US to live.
