Parent is Using Drugs
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Washington DC.
This has been going on for too long! I will be soon be turning 17 in January. My mother has been on drugs ALL of my life. I am only in the 11th grade and I 've been to more than 8 schools, not because of bad grades or poor behavior, but because of unstable home environmenta. I have lived in the states of Va, Md, and Ga. CPS have been involved for multiple occassions and I've even confessed to her being an addict and there was nothing they can do. It is illegal for her to sell food stamps that she receives for my brother and I and she gets high on the monetary assistance that she receives the first of the month. Why should I get a job to be emanicipated when she uses the tax payer's money every month to get her fix? I need answers to get out of this!

Re: This
Why shouldn't you? Why should the taxpayers shell out still more money because you don't think the law ought to apply to you?
