Missed First Screening Meeting, Now Have Summons of Probation Violation
My question involves criminal law for the state of: AZ

I took a plea bargain in a DV case that became a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct charge. 180 days in jail suspended and probation if I paid a fine and went to a counseling screening followed by X number of weeks of counseling determined by the case worker.

I paid the fine in full but I missed my initial screening appointment. I called the case worker a couple of days afterwards to reschedule but they said it was kicked back to the courts for non compliance. I filed a motion to the judge explaining why I missed it and it was denied

I just received my summons to appear in court for a probation violation. I get it, I shouldn't have missed the initial screening for any reason. I had no problem doing the screening and going to the recommended counseling, I'm was not trying to run from it. I did not miss it on purpose.

Does anyone have any idea of what might happen? Is there a chance that I would be sentenced to jail? I have no priors. I'm highly educated (Masters), hold a high position in a large corporation, i don't see Jail as the appropriate punishment. Do I need a lawyer?

Yes, you have a chance of going to jail. You have 180 days on you head. Jail was not the preferred sentence, but you've now made that a possibility by missing your DVC intake. Get a lawyer. Lots of well educated people commit domestics.
