Boyfriend Trouble
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Indiana. I am a 16 year old girl and my boyfriend broke up with me because he said it was against the law to date a 16 year old since he is turn 18 in three months. so what i am asking is: is there really a law about that and if so can i have some info about it? Yes we had sex once but only once (i dont know if that matters) please help!

Re: Boyfriend Trouble
There's no law against dating a 16 year old - in any State.
It sounds like you really just got dumped.

Re: Boyfriend Trouble
It sounds like he has reason to believe you or someone near you might claim he in some way contributed to your delinquency. He is trying to avoid potential charges. This is not an issue until he is 18. If he is emphasizing it to not spend time with you at all now, I'm sorry hon, you were taken for a test drive and dumped. Unfortunately, there is no good way to say whether you should have sex before marriage. As you are underage, you really should not, since, even with birth control, you can get pregnant. What I suggest is you closely examine the things about you that are positives and the things that are negatives. When you date a boy, try to only let them see the positives, until the relationship is serious. Then before you get too emotionally involved, tell them the negatives. If they love you, you can work through those things. Never go through life with blinders on. Don't lie to your boyfriends, but, until you really know them, assume they may be lying to you.
