21 Years Old Got My 16 Year Old Girlfriend Pregnant

I have read them more then once. Im also interesting what other people have to say and think about the situation as well though. I know I need to see a lawyer but I know there are other steps and things I just have no idea what. Under our revised code I know they cant get me with any kind of felony because of how everything happened.

Ok I got a update. They are trying to put Statutory Rape on me because they are saying Im more then 4 years older then her. However she is and always was at the age of 16 which is legal age of consent. Any thoughts?

The update came from my mother. She had talked with the family thats working with the state to press the charges. However I looked up Statutory Rape and it states if the person is over 18 and the minor is between 13 and Under the age of 16. Where as the age of consent in ohio is 16.

Yeah, somebody, somewhere, isn't telling the truth here.

Time to get an attorney if you're charged with anything.

She turned 16 in March and I didnt start being around her until June and later before anything ever happen. So there is no way at all they can try to say I had anything to do with before that. However, like I said our county makes rules and all kinds of shit up without actually following the persons rights. There is no innocence until proven otherwise around here. The state is telling everyone that is what they are in the process of filling on me.

Kid, you keep saying you're "looking for wisdom". You've been given it in spades. Either take the advice you've been given and get an attorney, or don't, but either way, you need to stop wasting our time with endless rephrasings and nonsense about your county being some special snowflake that just does what it wants.

Well your comment on not understanding the law shows your biased thoughts. Child services said they have the paperwork I need to fill out in order to try getting her. Our friend that they are looking into told them I wanted to be in the picture and wanted to be a real man and marry her. They told her to have me go down Monday to get the paperwork and fill out. Section 3101.04 directly says it can be petitioned through the juv court. So thanks for your information but now I atleast know how to get the process started.
